Unfortunately this increases the cost of the jod by around $600.00. We fix this issue by replacing the oil pump at the same time an the belt due to the up rated oil pump timing belt tensioner boss. If this happens it is all over and expensive repairs will follow. If not done correctly the boss can snap off causing the belt to jump the front timing belt teeth. The TdV6 also has a problem where the timing belt tensioner bolts to the oil pump housing. However if the front belt brakes "BANG" the engine is destroyed.Īt LRA when we do the timing belts on a TdV6, we take all precautions. If the rear belt snaps the engine will stop. The rear belt is not as important as the front belt. There is 2 belts, the Fuel injection belt at the rear of the engine and the main belt at the front of the engine.
